da-ua

Etymology
Borrowed from French yaourt. The use of the letter d only reflects a southern accent, and even then some yogurt vendors may prefer the letter y, or even the English word yogurt altogether. In textbooks, d is typically used to transcribed the sound /z/ (reflecting a northern accent), so a textbook transcription for this word would be *i-a-ua instead.
