bisht

Albanian

Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *būšta, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰuH- (to grow) (compare English bush, Greek φύση (fýsi, nature), Armenian բույս (buys, plant)). Others, however, argue for a borrowing from a pre-Indo-European substratum, drawing parallels to Basque bustan and Romanian buștean.[1][2]
