aliai
Lithuanian
Etymology
An adverb formed on the basis of Proto-Indo-European *h₂olyos,[1] from Proto-Indo-European *h₂el-[2] (intriguingly, however, this word is not discussed by Derksen).[3] For the suffix, compare visái (“entirely”). Related to Proto-Celtic *olyos (“all”) and, with a different suffix, Proto-Germanic *allaz (“all”).[4]
