-cina f (noun-forming suffix, plural -cine)

  1. Alternative form of -ina
    canzone (song) + -cinabastoncina (little song, ditty)
    corona (crown) + -cinacoroncina (small crown, coronet)
    porta (door) + -cinaporticina (small door)
    parte (part) + -cinaparticina (bit part, minor acting role)

Usage notes

  • Originally used with feminine terms ending in -n, -ne or -na. Sometimes used with other (usually feminine) terms, in place of -ina.
