Houston

Downtown Houston

Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth largest in the United States. In 2013, the population of the city proper was 2,195,914.[1]

The city was named after General Sam Houston, who was the first president of the Republic of Texas (when Texas was a country, before it became a state of the United States).
