Homer was an Ancient Greek poet. He is famous for two epic poems: the Iliad and the Odyssey. He may have lived around 850 BC, but this is not certain.

Many legends have grown up around Homer. Few of them can be proven true because little is known of his life. His work had tremendous influence upon Ancient Greek culture and life.
