schwiine
Alemannic German
Etymology
From Middle High German swīnen, from Old High German swīnan, from Proto-Germanic *swīnaną. Cognate with Middle Dutch and Middle Low German swînen, Old Norse svína. Relation with Proto-Germanic *swindaną (whence German schwinden etc.) is formally problematic and thus uncertain.
