nekomimi

From Japanese 猫耳 (nekomimi), from 猫 (neko, “cat”) + 耳 (mimi, “ear”).

nekomimi (plural nekomimi or nekomimis)

1. (chiefly Japanese fiction) Cat ears.
2. (chiefly Japanese fiction) (by metonymy, coming from meronymy) A fictional character who has cat ears on an otherwise human body, and possibly other feline characteristics such as a tail.
