Borrowed from Arabic خِنْزِير جَبَلِيّ (ḵinzīr jabaliyy, literally “pig of the mountains”) via Andalusian Arabic.
Cognate with Galician xabaril, xabarín, Asturian xabalín, Spanish jabalí (whence English javelina) and Aragonese chabalin.
