idiot end (plural idiot ends)

  1. (poker, derogatory) A straight or straight flush hand formed by combining one or more low hole cards with the community cards, which is vulnerable to be beaten by an opponent using one or more higher hole cards to form a better hand of the same type.
    Idiot end example: a player forms a straight with the hole card 5♣ and community cards 6♥7♦8♠9♦. This can be beaten by an opponent holding any 10 card.
