eskis
Cornish
Etymology
Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *ped-skuH-t-, from *ped- (“foot”) + *(s)kewH- (“to cover”); the former component is cognate with English foot, and the latter with Ancient Greek σκῦτος (skûtos, “skin, hide”).[1] Direct cognate with Welsh esgid (“shoe”).
