Etymology

Cognate with Latin aries (ram). The initial /e-/ is incompatible with the Latin /a-/, and could be the result of assimilation with the following /-e-/, or a preservation of the original Proto-Indo-European vowel, which in Latin diverged.

Noun

erietom m

  1. ram (male sheep)
