- (organic chemistry, in combination) Ethane in a bridge position in a molecule.
Usage notes
The term "epiethane" may be followed by a list of digits 1 or 2 in square brackets, to say what positions of the ethane are connected to the rest of the molecule. The square brackets are followed by a number prefix followed by -yl or -ylidene suffix. The whole term is enclosed in parenthesis. e.g. "(epiethane[1,1,2]triyl)"
