Etymology

From Latin (from) + novō (new), possibly a restructured inherited form of Classical Latin dēnuō (again, anew), itself a reduced form of a supposed and unattested Old Latin *dē novōd. Related to Medieval Latin dē novō (afresh, as a new thing, out of nowhere). Compare Old Spanish de nuevo.
