- (physiology) The time period in a cycle during which the cycle is low, especially the lower part of a sine wave fitted to a measurement of a circadian pattern or other biological rhythm.
- The bathyphase of the metabolic process ran from late evening until shortly after the subject awoke, with the lowest point recorded in at three o'clock in the morning.
