awrina
Maltese
Etymology
From Italian urina or less probably Sicilian orina, both from Latin urīna. The initial a- would seem due to a backformation from l-awrina, from Italian la urina with the definite article. (The contraction l'urina was not obligatory in older Italian.)
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): /awˈriːna/
Verb
awrina (imperfect jawrina)
