Unadapted borrowing from Dutch accoord (“agreement, accord”), older spelling of akkoord, from Middle Dutch accoort, from Old French acorder (Modern French accord), from Vulgar Latin to be heart to heart with, formed from Latin ad + cor (“heart”). Doublet of akor and akur.
