Magyarize (third-person singular simple present Magyarizes, present participle Magyarizing, simple past and past participle Magyarized)

1. (transitive) To make or render Hungarian.
   • 1851 January, Francis Bowen, “The Rebellion of the Slavonic, Wallachian, and German Hungarians Against the Magyars”, in The North American Review, volume 72, number 151, Boston: Charles C. Little and James Brown, page 233:

     The Hungarians wished to Magyarize the Slavonians; but these were not inclined to submit to such a demand. The Magyars had dreamed of political unity for their own advantage; and they saw federalism appear, which they had themselves called into being.

2. (intransitive) To become Hungarian.
