Etymology
Semi-learned borrowing from Old Norse Draupnir. The name is a remade singular form from *draupna, plural genitive of *draupi, from the stem of dreypa (“to let drip”), whence also drøypa.[1] Related to drjúpa, whence also drjupa, drypa.
