Etymology
Portmanteau of Ukrainian Донецьк (Donecʹk) or Russian Донецк (Doneck) + Zimbabwe, meant to suggest underdevelopment, poverty, and endemic corruption. Alternatively borrowed from either of the two languages and coined there similarly.
