     Unter „Bindung“ versteht man das Aussprechen des sonst stummen Endkonsonanten eines Wortes und die Verbindung desselben mit dem Anfangsvokal des folgenden Wortes, derart, daß beide Wörter wie ein Wort lauten.

     “Liaison” [here in the strictest sense] is defined as the pronouncing of a word’s otherwise silent final consonant and the linking of this consonant to the initial vowel of the following word, such that both words sound as one word.
