Etymology

From Middle High German ougebrā (ougenbrā, ougenbrāwe), from ouge + brā, equivalent to Aug (“eye”) +‎ Braame (“brow”). Cognate with German Augenbraue. Compare also English eyebrow, Dutch oogbrauw.
