  • 🌍 Walmer Castle and Gardens, Kingsdown Road, Walmer, +44 1304 364288. Built under Henry VIII in the 16th century. Residence of the Duke of Wellington and William Pitt the Younger in later centuries, with the residence containing exquisite and extensive 18th- and 19th-century furniture and ornamentation. The castle is approximately a 30-minute walk from Deal train station. Adults £7.70, children £4.60, concessions £6.90.
  • 🌍 Kent Museum of the Moving Image, Stanhope Road. F, Sa, Su, 11AM-5PM. History of films from candle lit hand painted magic lanterns to the heyday of the cinema. Cafe with garden. Adult £6.
  • 🌍 Deal Museum, 22 St George's Rd. summer F, Sa, Su 1PM - 4PM. Volunteer run museum of maritime and local history free, donations encouraged.
  • 🌍 Timeball Tower Museum. Jun - Sep W - Su 11:30AM - 4:30PM,. The timeball was dropped at precisely 1PM to give an accuarate time reference for ships. The tower was also used for semaphore. Adult £3.

  • Walk along the seafront and onto the Pier (which is free to enter).
