Uganda is a land-locked country near the middle of Africa. Its neighbors are South Sudan (north), Kenya (east), Tanzania and Rwanda (south) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (west).
The south-eastern corner of the country is filled by part of Lake Victoria, a very large lake Uganda shares with Tanzania and Kenya. Uganda's capital, Kampala, lies on its shore.
Geography
Uganda is located on the plateau of East Africa, averaging about 1100metres above sea level.
