Lyon is a city in east-central France, located on the confluence of two rivers: the Rhône and the Saône. It's the third biggest city (after Paris and Marseille) and the second urban area of France.

Lyon has been the capital city of the Roman province Gaul. Today it is the capital of the metropolis of Lyon and of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
