The botany is the study of plants. A person that practice botany is called a botanist.

Formerly, fungi and algae were believe to be plants, and were studied among them : this is why the botany is still styudiing these living beings nowadays (in fact, only the green algae are plants, while red algae, brown algae and fungi are belongs to others kinds of living beings).
