BCE (Before Common era/epoch) is the time before year 0. Such times like Ancient Egypt, prehistory (Time before history was written), and even the old earth age starting out is in BCE.But we use the Geologic Time Scale more often for age of earth.The BCE is an aleternative to BC (Before Christ).The reason is gregorian calendars are international.The opposite of bce is ce (common era)
