Aeschylus was an ancient Greek playwright. He was born about 525 BC in Eleusis, and died about 456 BC in Gela. Only seven of his estimated 70 to 90 plays have survived. These seven plays are The Persians, Seven Against Thebes, The Suppliants, Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers, The Eumenides, and Prometheus Bound.
