Background Information
Sorcerer Linux was a source-based distribution launched in 2001 created by Kyle Sallee and was designed to be compiled and optimized for system administrator specifics. Software updates were implemented through compressed archive files containing the source code of software or applications known as Source Tarballs.
However, in 2002 the project was forked into the Lunar Penguin distribution, due to "several issues" with the development of Sorcerer. Sorcerer lives on to this day through the Source Mage distribution.
