The speakers are compatible with the first and second generation iPod Nano, the fourth and fifth generation iPod, and the iPod Mini. The speaker system includes Sony's "S-Master" digital amplifier, a main speaker, a docking port for iPods, a separate housing for the subwoofer, and a remote controller. The Sony CPF-IP001 Cradle Audio System was released in 2007 and discontinued in 2011.

Identification

To identify that your device is a Sony CPF-IP001, look on the bottom of the main speaker, you should find a sticker that says "Model no. CPF-IP001P". The model that ends with a "P" refers to just the main speaker, where "CPF-IP001" refers to the speaker and subwoofer system.
