Background and Identification

Announced by Nikon Corporation on January 6th, 2016, the Nikon D500 is a digital single-lens reflex camera with a 20.9 megapixel APS-C sensor. The D500 is a successor to the D300s as Nikon’s DX format flagship DSLR. In 2017, the Nikon D500 won a Camera Grand Prix Japan 2017 Editor’s Award.

Notable features of the D500 include 4K UHD video in 30p, 25p and 24p, active D-Lighting (three levels), low light performance, Live View Mode, built-in sensor cleaning, and dual memory card slots.
